We are a full-service landscape provider specializing in all phases of commercial landscape management. We help clients maintain and improve property value through landscape appearance, functionality, and efficiency with our wide service range, technical expertise, and resources. From 5 local service centers, we serve the greater Portland Metropolitan and Salem areas.
We are looking for a Health, Environmental & Safety Manager to oversee the development, implementation and monitoring of the company’s safety programs, standards and protocols to reduce potential environmental incidents and employee injuries.

Skills and Abilities
- Wide-ranging knowledge of current company safety policies, applicable state, federal and local health and safety regulation includes extensive knowledge of Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) standards.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Understanding of adult learning methods and ability to conduct trainings.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Possess and utilizes good interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively communicate with customers, employees and managers.
- Strong supervisory and leadership skills.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
- Must be able to read and write English.
- Bilingual in English/Spanish a plus.
- Must possess a valid Driver’s License with a driving record acceptable to the company's insurance carrier.
Working Conditions
- Outdoor physical labor in temperatures ranging from cold 20 degrees to heat in excess of 100 degrees and exposure to rain. Flexibility in hours of operation is required due to the nature of the work. Spraying around commercial sites usually requires working at night, as well as occasional weekends.
- Exposure to dust, pollen, chemicals, noise and pollutants to the Tree Care industry (fertilizer, pesticide, etc.).
- Machinery/equipment noise, traffic and hazards related to the Tree Care industry in a commercial environment.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to walk, stand, squat and kneel repetitively on a daily basis.
- Makes frequent repetitive movements with the left and right hand, wrist, ankle and knee.
- Ability to twist, turn, and bend the trunk of the body frequently.
- Prolonged periods of sitting while working on a computer.
- Must be able to lift up to 45 pounds.
- Ability to travel throughout the company’s locations as required.
Education and Experience
Candidate will have at least one of the following qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Health and Safety, Safety Engineering, Environmental Health, or related field desirable or;
- possess a two year degree in engineering, construction or safety from an accredited or industry recognized technical school, plus a minimum of two years of direct safety oversight experience or;
- possess a professional certification in safety from an accredited or industry recognized certifying body, plus a minimum of three years of direct safety oversight experience or;
- At least eight years of occupational health and safety experience in an industrial environment required. Construction experience preferred.
