Snow Equipment Operator

Job Summary

GENERAL SUMMARY & ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS*

  • Seasonal/Part time/On call position (Possible full-time position during regular season)
  • Drive heavy equipment and vehicles with adjustable attachments to remove snow and ice and spread salt and sand
  • Operate skid steer, front end loader, backhoe and snow plow
  • Maintains a safe and efficient job site
  • Maintain proper fluid levels in each piece of equipment
  • Drive trucks to transport crews
  • Communicate with shop regarding equipment conditions and problems
  • Maintains a positive attitude
  • Communicate with and take direction from Area Managers and Site ForemenĀ 
  • Perform pre and post trip inspections

PREPARATION, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES

  • Class A, Class B or Class D license preferred
  • Medical DOT card preferred
  • OSHA training preferred
  • Hydraulics license required
  • Driver's license required
  • Must abide by all safety policies

WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  • Be able to work in extreme weather conditions
  • Available workdays, nights, weekends and holidays
  • Be able to lift, carry, push, pull, and stooping-bending up to 80lbs several hours a day
  • Be able to stand or sit several hours a day

Job Requirements

Equipment operator applicants must have ample experience with snow removal equipment operation.

Highly motivated, conscientious, and detail-oriented individuals with a positive attitude.

If applying for heavy equipment operation (i.e. skids, loaders) a valid MA hoisting license is required.

Prior experience clearing snow in equipment.

A valid Driver's License is required.
